[05/31/08 update]
- How he came up with the idea of making the album featuring Gary Barden.
- By the time he decided to work with Gary, the songs had been already written. Michael sang Gary the vocal melodies and delivered his intention. Then, Gary added his tastes.
- The chemistry with Gary has never been changed.
- (Asked about the credit on the album jacket) it was very important for him to put Gary's name there to let the fans know Gary is featured. They are not just a guitarist and a singer but a song writing team.
- (Asked about the future activities) anything could happen with any singers.
- (Asked if Gary is now a parmanent MSG member) he has no idea. He's just doing his best to live in the presnt. It's a waste of time to think about what will happen a year later.
- He explained why he played the rhythm parts with D tuning on the new CD. But the solos were played with the normal tuning.
- (Asked about any new gear used) he used Ibanez Tube Screamer. Other than that, there was nothing new. Dean V with JCM800-2205 50W.
- Michael and Gary have started a different project apart from MSG, which is an acoustic latin music project. He said you would be surprised to hear their music.

"The title came about through my experience and realisation that - in the midst of beauty - the beast is always waiting ready to attack.[04/29/08 update]
After the tour cancellations in summer 2007 due to disorganisation I decided to get things straightened out. After a clear vision was accomplished I moved to England and worked on reuniting the original MSG, began to write music, got together with Gary to work on vocals and started to record in Ulm (Germany) with Siggi Schwarz managing this project.
With Siggi as the organiser and helping with financial matters and Romi, a well established musician and great sound engineer, I had a strong team to achieve the goal. We contacted Simon Philips and Don Airey who were happy to work together once again and were very fortunate with Neil Murray's availability.
The album was produced by Siggi, Romi and myself with the fantastic input from Gary, Simon, Don, Neil and Michael Voss.
We would like to thank everyone who was involved and we hope that you enjoy this album."
In the credits it mentions that Simon's drums were recorded in California but all other recording was done in Germany.

Michael Schenker Gibson Flying V No. 1[03/27/08 update]
This is the Gibson Flying V that Michael originally sold in 2002, that is again now for sale. I would like this very special 'axe' to go to somebody in the MSG/UFO community. The guitar comes with a signed letter of authentication from Michael and its travel case. If you would like more details of the guitar, details of price and delivery please contact me on this email address:
info@tigermedialtd.co.uk
As this is a totally 'one of a kind' guitar I will be selling on a first come first serve basis at a reserve price.
I must say a big thank you to Ritchie for posting this information on his website. And for keeping up the great work you have done over the years. We all really appreciate it!
Best wishes Martin!

.....The Tackeroo, only a small venue (250 capacity), was sold out, and we were not disappointed. If this tour is aimed at playing small venues to win back the fans, it certainly worked last night, playing a greatest hits set, including about 5 or 6 UFO classics, Michael Schenker is back, his roadie seemed to take ages to tune up his guitars, and then go back and check them again (I don't blame him). The rest of the band gave an excellent performance, very tight, but everyone was there to see Schenker, and he didn't disappoint. Smiling and thanking the crowd throughout the set, he actually seemed to be enjoying himself......[02/14/08 update]
.....at 9.30 the band hit the stage and there don't seem to be any problems. In fact, Michael is really on form and we get an extra long solo during Lights Out........The night is going superb; the crowd are really on form and worshipping everything Michael does. There are so many Welsh connections to UFO and with Rockfield Studios, that Schenker is almost worshipped as a local. Then something lights the fuse............We are in Attack of the Mad Axeman and Schenker has already done one solo. Then he tries his hand at slide guitar playing. The roadie hands him the glass slider but Schenker is unhappy with the guitar and tries to change the settings. The roadie changes them back as Schenker is playing. Wrong move my friend. Schenker struggles with the slider then takes off the guitar and throws it away, storming off the stageinto the wall. The rhythm section loop while the singer looks forlorn at the stage exit door. The roadie wires up the reserve guitar. Then Schenker returns and picks up the original guitar; the roadie struggles to unplug the reserve and plug the mains into Schenker's guitar. We then get a minute of blistering guitar work that only a few of the very best can do. Then, the fuse blows again and Schenker throws the guitar at/to his roadie, who is wisely hiding behind the cabs and then Schenker is gone. The band play on a bit then they too leave.[02/11/08 update No.5]

It was a short chat, mainly about the upcoming Michael Schenker and Friends tour and album.
Main points were...
- Everything is well.
- The chemistry with Gary has never gone away.
- The the cd is still work-in-progress. It's about three-quarters through, and should be fully recorded by about the end of this month.
- The purpose of the UK-wide MS&F tour right across the UK is to go further than in the past, to venues that he's never played before, so as to go to the people for pre-promotion of MSG album/tour later in the year with Gary. He wants to go to places he's never been to before, smaller places, to reach new people.
- Regarding how the industry has changed, Michael said he doesn't focus on that - "I just do what I do" - but he acknowledges that the technology has changed a lot since he made his first record at 16 years old.
- Re giving away a Dean guitar on the upcoming tour. This will be the guitar which was used to record the album, it will be a ticket-draw and the winner will be announced on his website.
- He doesn't know yet who will be in MSG then they tour later in the year.
- On Steve's comment that in the past the 'media has not been too kind' to Michael, he agreed that there had been ups and downs, and that he wasn't too worried about what the media say - he just has to step into the battleground.
