Riffs is the smallest venue I have seen Schenker play. It was a great night where we could all get close to the great man and watch his every move. He is on great form. You can always tell what mood he is in by the quality of the rockbottom solo and it was spot on plenty of good runs and effort from Michael.
The band seemed in a hurry and blasted through the set hardly without taking a breath. The stage was tiny so was difficult to form a strong opinion of the band. Leif is certainly not a long term answer on vocals and his performance on Axeman was woeful. It was great to see I Want More still in the set and this was Leif at his best pacing the vocal and interacting on the high notes with the keyboard player.
It matters not how the others did they are "friends" and we got what we wanted a rejuvenated Schenker who was faultless. Thanks to Riffs also what a great little venue super friendly atmosphere. By the way Michael if you read this please come to Newcastle next time I am always having to travel to see you. Also power to the ultimate Schenker man who pleaded all night for Bijou Pleasurette.

Great gig on Saturday. Back to his best without a doubt. Well he was amazing Mad Axe Man solo was totally out of this world the best ive heard. This was the 50th gig ive seen Michael play he looked fresh and relaxed and very well. He signed autographs straight after the show and even told me off for bringing too much to sign. Heres a pic i took of him. Cant wait for Sheffield and also MSG with Gary back what a year for the genuine fans. Every note was crystal clear and the Pa was small but good..
