The Avalon gig was a really nice venue and much bigger than the Galaxy. I met Skid there like many other times before. At this point I was ready for some serious sack time but with a nice Starbucks in me I went right back in to MSG mode and helped out again. This is really a once in a lifetime opportunity and I will always be thankful to Wayne Findlay and the band for being great people and great friends. Sound check was very smooth and Michael smiling as always. Before the show Brad Gilis from Night Ranger was in the green room and I got to meet him and share past concert stories with him from the Ozzy tour he did 25 years ago. This crowd at the Avalon was VERY LOUD and rowdy from the get go. Hands were everywhere and hard to get alot of picks. Michael was in TOP FORM and ruled the stage. He was really on it and didn't miss a note. You could tell the band was feeding off the crowd on stage. A very electrical performance again by the entire band. Same set list but Michael improvised a bit before one of the songs that sounded something like the intro to Save Yourself. His version of Rock Bottom lead was intense and the best solo of the 3 nights I attended. I will be going to the Sacramento show tonight and will be most likely the last show for me due to $$$$. I will miss this bands friendship and I encourage all the MSG fans to see the tour. This lineup is the best ever of MSG and you will agree.. I promise..Thanks again to everyone in the Band.. Wayne, Jari, Franky, Bodo, and of course the Schenk!! All the crew and Wayne's wife Deana in charge of Merchandise. See you tonight!! Axe

The show saturday night at The Avalon was fantastic! I had seen the friday night show a week earlier at the Last Day Saloon in Santa Rosa, but this one was even better. Firstly, things got started late as the band came on at 11:40. The fans were getting restless and impatient, someone threw a beer bottle onstage and it shattered broken glass all over the place. Fans started booing. Could this be another Schenker no-show, I wondered? But they did hit the stage and broke into the awesome Assault Attack. The setlist was the same as Santa Rosa as I assume it will be every night, so no need to review the setlist. The band was tight and the sound system sounded great. What I notice about this line-up is the singer, bass player and drummer are way better than the last couple times I've seen MSG. The singer (sorry not sure here) has a great voice and sings the songs with high energy and He has great vocal range, I hope He stays with Michael as long as possible. Toward the end of Rock Bottom, I noticed Bodo Schopf messed up a little bit and Michael shot him sort of a nasty look. But other than that the performace overall was flawless. On and On particularly sticks in my mind as being really outstanding. Michael played the black and white Dean V pretty much all night and switched to the Dean #2 during the last part of the show. He never broke a string once. Michael seems to be enjoying himself and is in good spirits. I advise all to go out and check out the show if you can, it's well worth it!
